Located in the heart of Hollywood, Alta Vista Boulevard is a 60 foot wide parkway separating high density housing on the east and west sides of the street.  Currently, there is a 15 foot asphalt median in the middle of the public right of way vacant and unused.

The design objective is to create a neighborhood park, which are severely lacking in Hollywood.  This would create opportunities for the community to connect with nature, socialize, and build a sense of pride in the neighborhood.

The design concept is derived from the patterns of Hollywood Hills watershed, in which water carves its way through the landscape as it finds its way to the Pacific Ocean.  These patterns create opportunities for areas such as native habitat sanctuaries, meandering pathways, rain gardens, and places for owners to take their pets.
